Today, in my apps in the play store, google maps said i had the wrong account for the google maps beta, and i needed to switch accounts maps doesn't show up as an app for my g suite accounts, just my gmail account if i delete the g suite account the play store thinks google maps was signed up for, the maps version drops down. Google recently updated play store to download only one app at a time, not multiple apps like before. and this might be the reason you’re seeing download pending message because there might be other apps in the queue pending for download.. 1) stop current / pending downloads in google play store. 2) disable google app. 3) clear cache / data for google play store. 4) restart device (for good measure) 5) resume updating apps (once they show up again in the store, downloading a new app may trigger this) 6) re-enable google app (i was able to do this without recreating the problem.
